Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a concept that benefits the building and construction industries professionals through the utilization of technology and tools that benefit the industry with better cost management, planning, communication, coordination, construction scheduling and management.

In this training, the concepts of BIM and the tools for parametric building design and documentation will be introduced and establishing a base of knowledge on BIM terminology. You will learn the fundamental features of Autodesk Revit, and then progress through schematic design, construction documentation, and design visualization.

Courseware Objectives

This course will help to improve and enhance your BIM understanding and skill sets to be more knowledgeable, productive, competitive, and pro-active in problem-solving. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Build a BIM model appropriately
  • Interact between Revit model and AutoCAD
  • Understand how BIM can be used as interaction, communication and collaboration tools
  • Understand issues associated when initializing the BIM workflow
  • Understand bidirectional associativity and parametric relationships in Autodesk Revit
  • Adopt BIM workflow
  • Prepare documentation for local requirement (building plans submission and general assemblies’ drawing)
  • Coordinate between multiple engineering disciplines in construction
  • Carry out a project adopting BIM technology
  • Describe contributions of BIM to scheduling, estimating, and facility management
  • Understand issues associated when initializing the BIM workflow

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems
